Looking for Specialist After Grandpa's Stroke

Hi everyone. My grandfather had a stroke six months ago and since then his personality has totally changed. He used to be this cheerful guy but now he's irritable, suspicious of everyone, and sometimes doesn't recognize us. The rehab team suggested we get him evaluated by someone who deals with both neurological and psychiatric issues in seniors. Would really appreciate if you could suggest a geriatric psychiatrist who might be able to help him. We're feeling pretty lost right now.

I totally get how lost you feel—my uncle went through something similar after a stroke, and it was shocking to see him switch from being upbeat to irritable and withdrawn almost overnight. The neurologist suggested a geriatric psychiatrist who understands both brain injury and mental health, and it really helped him regain some stability. You might want to check out elderly psychiatrist in Orange County ; they focus on exactly these situations. Having someone experienced makes a huge difference.
