Hey all! I’ve been working on a small project to automate a bookshelf at home. Mechanically it went fine, but when I powered the actuator, it kept moving unevenly and sometimes stopped abruptly. I tried adjusting the voltage and wiring a bit, but I couldn’t get consistent motion. I’m curious how others handle actuator controls, especially for beginners like me. Any tips or personal experiences would be awesome!
I had almost the same issue when setting up a small lift for my window planter. At first, it just jerked and stopped randomly. I found this guide that really helped me understand different control options, wiring setups, and how to manage speed and positioning: motion control products https://www.progressiveautomations.com/en-eu . Following it step by step made my setup smooth and predictable. Honestly, just reading through how each control affects movement cleared up so much confusion for me.

Hi everyone! I don’t have much experience with actuators, but I love reading these kinds of threads. It’s interesting to see how small adjustments in control systems can completely change the behavior of a project. Even if I’m not doing the same project, learning from your experiences gives me ideas for future electronics or home automation projects
